Jungle Vallisneria (Vallisneria americana)

Jungle Vallisneria is a tall, ribbon-leaved background plant that creates a flowing grass-like wall across the back or sides of an aquarium. It spreads by runners and can develop into a dense stand under favorable conditions.

Jungle Val does not require injected CO₂ and is particularly well suited to neutral, alkaline, and mineral-rich water. Its potential height makes it most appropriate for taller or larger aquariums.

Growth & Care

Once established, Jungle Val sends runners beneath the substrate that produce additional plants. Runners may be left to create a dense background or separated after the new plant develops roots.

Lighting & Nutrition

Moderate lighting and periodic root tabs support stronger growth. It can survive lower light but may grow more slowly or stretch toward the surface.

Placement & Planting

Plant the roots while keeping the crown exposed. Vallisneria may temporarily melt after being moved but can recover from a healthy crown and root system.
