Adolfoi Corys are peaceful bottom-dwelling catfish known for their creamy bodies, bold black eye masks, dark back markings, and warm orange patches behind the head.

Temperament & Behavior

Adolfoi Corys are gentle, social catfish that do best with companions of their own species. They may be reserved when first introduced, particularly in brightly lit aquariums without cover.

Provide shaded resting areas and open sections of substrate for feeding. Occasional surface air gulps are normal; repeated gasping should prompt a water-quality and oxygen check.

Feeding

Offer a varied diet that reaches the bottom. Check that quieter individuals receive food rather than losing every meal to faster tankmates.

Adolfoi Corys need their own meals. They should not be expected to live on scraps or clean algae from the aquarium.

Breeding

Females deposit adhesive eggs on suitable surfaces. Adults may eat eggs and fry. Soft water can be important for breeding and egg development, even when adults have adapted to different maintenance conditions.

Use fine sand and provide plants, driftwood, and shaded retreats. Keep open feeding areas available and maintain clean, well-oxygenated water. Leave access to the surface.
