Java Moss

Java Moss is a hardy, adaptable aquarium moss used for aquascaping, shrimp keeping, spawning, and fry protection. It can be attached to wood and rock, spread across mesh, or allowed to form loose natural clumps.

Growth & Care

Java Moss grows into dense mats and benefits from periodic trimming. Very thick clumps can trap food and debris, so gently rinsing or thinning them helps maintain circulation.

Lighting & Nutrition

Low light is sufficient. Moderate lighting and balanced water-column nutrition generally produce denser growth. Excessive lighting may encourage algae within the moss.

Placement & Planting

Tie or glue thin portions to hardscape, spread it over mesh, or leave it loose in breeding and fry tanks. It does not require substrate.
