Temperament & Behavior

Yellow King Tiger Cobra Guppies are peaceful, active livebearers that do well in community tanks with compatible species. Males are especially active and display often. Like other guppies, they do best in stable tanks with good water quality and peaceful tank mates.

They do best in tanks with:

• Gentle to moderate flow

• Plants and cover

• Open swimming space

• Stable water quality and temperature

• A secure lid

Tank Size (Recommended)

• Trio/group setup: 10 gallon minimum

• Better long-term group/community setup: 20 gallons+ preferred

• Larger display colony: 29 gallons+ ideal

Water Temperature

• Ideal range: 74–80°F

• Many hobbyists keep them around 76–78°F

• A stable temperature is more important than chasing an exact number

Tank Mates (Good Choices)

Best tank mates are peaceful fish that are not fin nippers and won’t harass long-finned guppies.

Good tank mates may include:

• Corydoras

• Small rasboras

• Ember tetras

• Ricefish

• Peaceful snails and shrimp (with caution around shrimplets/fry)

Avoid:

• Fin-nippers

• Aggressive cichlids

• Large predatory fish

• Overly boisterous fish that constantly stress guppies

Feeding

Yellow King Tiger Cobra Guppies thrive on a varied diet. A rotation of quality foods helps maintain color, finnage, body condition, and breeding performance.

Recommended foods:

• High-quality flakes and micro pellets

• Frozen foods (brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms as treats)

• Live foods (optional, but excellent for conditioning)

• Vegetable-based foods in rotation
